Brisbane Lions host Collingwood at the Gabba on Friday in AFL Round 15. Both sides need the win to boost their respective finals ambitions, but the Lions will be more advantaged playing at home in front of a Gabba crowd.

Brisbane Lions Form

Brisbane have won six of their last seven games, with the only loss coming to Richmond in Round 10.

Poor kicking has been the downfall of the Lions, with the last two matches going down to the wire against North Melbourne and St Kilda when the match should have been over at half-time.

After having the bye last week, a freshen up that side looked like they desperately needed. They have had a couple of weeks to improve their accuracy and if so, they are a live Grand Final chance.

Brisbane Lions Team News

Daniel Rich comes back into the side after a suspension, which will give the young side some heavy duty drive off the half-back line.

Collingwood Form

Collingwood have won four of their last five and were a touch too classy for the Blues last week. That was a win which put them in the box seat for a top eight spot.

The Pies are starting to put some consistent form together now. They are the team that could cause some damage come Finals time as they will not be top four, but have a top four quality side.

This is a big test for the Pies though, coming against Brisbane at the Gabba. But if there is a team that can beat the Lions under these circumstances, Collingwood is that team.

After a heavy contest last week, Chris Mayne will miss this week.

Brisbane Lions vs Collingwood Head To Head

Collingwood have won the last six clashes between the sides, most of them in a very convincing manner. But Brisbane are a much better side than they were two and three years ago.

With a two week break and back at home, the Lions will be incredibly hard to beat against any side in the competition, providing they can kick straight.

Brisbane Lions vs Collingwood Betting Odds

Brisbane are the strong favourites in this match at 1.45 while Collingwood at 2.75. The line has been set for Brisbane at -13.5 which does look risky for Lions backers.

Brisbane Lions vs Collingwood Match Up

The key match up in here is between Brayden Maynard and possibly Charlie Cameron.

Cameron is a little match winner down forward for the Lions and can turn the opposition inside out on a 10 cent piece.

Maynard is arguably one of the league's best defenders and has the speed to match it with Cameron.

If Cameron can kick straight and put a couple of goals in the bag early, it could be goodnight to the Pies, otherwise they are well in the match.
