Carlton vs Geelong Cats Predictions

Carlton have momentum on their side, but they are yet to beat a top 8 side this season. Geelong are tipped to boost their chances of a top 4 finish and the double chance.

  • Carlton have won their last 2 matches.
  • Carlton have won the last 3 matches in a row against Geelong at the MCG.
  • Geelong Cats have won 8 of the last 10 matches against Carlton.
  • Geelong Cats have won 7 of their last 8 matches.

Head to Head

Carlton pulled off a huge upset Round 3 of last year, beating a Geelong side who rarely faulter at home by two points.

Overall, though, the Cats have been a bogey club for the Blues in recent history. Geelong have won eight of the last 10 matches, although none of the matches were played at the MCG.

Carlton Form

Carlton are on a two-game winning streak after knocking over Fremantle Dockers 80-64 last weekend.

The two wins have allowed the Blues to once again be in a race for the finals, but time is running out.

Carlton are yet to beat a top eight side this season, but a win could start a decent winning streak as the next few games look favorable for the Blues.

Midfield jet Sam Walsh has burst onto the scene as one of the best players in the competition, racking in an average 29 disposals for the season as well as kicking the sealer last Saturday.

Carlton Team News

In-form runner Zac Williams returns this week after serving his one-match suspension.

Co-captain Patty Cripps has escaped serious injury and will play against the Cats.

Zac Fisher is among the emergencies after spending the last two weeks recovering from his ankle injury.

Geelong Cats Form

Geelong bounced back against Essendon Bombers last Friday night with a runaway win 98-57.

The Cats are only out of the top 4 by the slimmest of margins, so a decent win this week should see them return.

Geelong are a serious contender and a dark horse to win the flag as they are in the top 5 for many various winning statistics.

Some of the stats include Disposals, Clearances, Efficiency Inside 50 and Marks Inside 50.
