Collingwood Magpies face the West Coast Eagles in AFL 2026 Round 11, with Scott Pendlebury set for his record 433rd game. Collingwood come in as favourites, having beaten the Eagles by an average of 53 points in their last three meetings. Pendlebury, in top form with 70 disposals and three goals in his past two games, is tipped for another big performance. West Coast showed improvement with a win against GWS, but Collingwood's consistency against lower-ranked sides gives them the edge. Expect Pendlebury 30+ disposals, a goal, and Collingwood to cover the -43.5 line.

Collingwood Magpies vs West Coast Eagles Preview

Scott Pendlebury plays in his AFL record-breaking game - the 433rd match of his career - and it should be an occasion to remember. Back him in the goals and disposals markets and for Collingwood to dominate.

  • Collingwood have won their past three against the Eagles by an average margin of 53 points.
  • Prior to losing to Sydney last weekend, the Magpies had won 14 straight matches against sides that did not make finals in 2025.
  • Scott Pendlebury has recorded 70 disposals across his past two matches.
  • Pendlebury has also kicked three goals in his past two games.

Head to Head Stats

Collingwood have taken out the past three meetings between the two sides by an average margin of 53 points. They have not met at the MCG since 2021, when the Magpies scored a 45-point victory.

Collingwood Magpies Form - Pies Lacking Consistency

Collingwood come in with a 4-5-1 win/loss/draw record. Since splitting their Round 8 fixture against Hawthorn at 93 apiece, they have gone down to Geelong by 54 points and Sydney by six.

They led the Swans late in the Round 10 clash but could not hold on, with the 71-56 inside 50 count proving decisive in the end.

They now take on a lower-ranked side and had won their previous 14 against teams that did not make finals in 2025 before the loss to Sydney ended that streak, although it is worth noting the ladder-leading Swans are a very different outfit to the injury-ravaged side of last season.

A big positive in recent weeks has been the form of Jordan De Goey, who has recorded 29 and 30 disposals in his past two outings, his best returns in two years. Nick Daicos had 28 disposals against Sydney and 29 against Geelong. He had produced seven consecutive 30+ disposal games prior to that.

Meanwhile, the man of the moment, Scott Pendlebury, is averaging 24 disposals per game in 2026, just shy of his career average of 25.36. He picked up 27 in his most recent outing against Geelong in Round 9, while in the ANZAC Day clash against Essendon he produced a career-high 43 disposals.

West Coast Eagles Form - Losing Run Snapped

West Coast snapped a six-game losing streak by defeating GWS by 17 points last weekend, with the win built on some impressive work in the ruck by Bailey Williams, who had 41 hit-outs and two goals, while Harley Reid stood tall with 34 disposals and two goals of his own. Jake Waterman spearheaded the attack with three goals.

Waterman has kicked three goals in each of his past three matches, while Reid has recorded 25 or more disposals in three of his past four.

From a defensive point of view, the match against GWS was the Eagles’ best of the season, conceding just 71 points, the lowest opposition score they have allowed in 2026. Scoring has been an issue for West Coast, averaging just 71 points per game this season, but there are signs of improvement with their ball movement and midfield connection.

The Eagles are also beginning to compete much better around the contest. Reid, Williams, Liam Baker and Tim Kelly all had 10 or more contested possessions against GWS, while Willem Duursma continues to progress strongly.

Collingwood Magpies Team News

Pendlebury will return for his record-breaking match, but Oscar Steene is likely to miss with a knee injury, placing added importance on the fitness of Darcy Cameron, who missed the Sydney match with an ankle issue.

Pat Lipinski and Tim Membrey are both a chance to return, while Sam Swadling is pushing for a debut after producing some huge numbers in the VFL.

West Coast Eagles Team News

There were no injuries to come out of the win over GWS. Matt Owies, Brandon Starcevich and Archer Reid are all edging closer to being available for selection, while Harry Edwards missed the Giants clash with concussion and is a chance to return.

Verdict

Collingwood to clear the line with Pendlebury on for 30+ disposals and a goal.
