Melbourne Demons must win against the Essendon Bombers at Metricon Stadium on Saturday to stand a chance of making the finals. Sitting in ninth spot heading into the final round, the Dees can jump up to eighth and heap pressure on Western Bulldogs in the fight for the last spot in the finals.

Essendon Bombers Form

The Bombers' miserable run of form continued with a heavy 79-29 defeat at the hands of ladder leaders Port Adelaide last weekend.

The latest Essendon loss means the Dons have now won just one of their last nine games with seven defeats and a draw in that period. Prior to that, the Bombers had been firmly in the finals picture. Can Essendon muster some form and end Melbourne's season?

Essendon Bombers Team News

Michael Hurley is set to return in defence for Essendon after missing last week's loss. Jayden Laverde, Aaron Francis and Ned Cahill are all possible ins for the final game of the season.

Melbourne Demons Form

The Demons' 79-74 win over the GWS Giants last weekend kept their finals dreams alive, but now they need another win to stay in the hunt and avoid finishing ninth for the second time in four seasons.

Victory over the Bombers on Saturday would move Melbourne back into the eight at the expense of the Western Bulldogs, who face Fremantle Dockers on Sunday. Can they turn the heat on the Dogs?

The Demons have been mixing their form over the last month with two wins and three losses, two of which came to sides who won't be playing finals footy in the Sydney Swans and Dockers.

Melbourne Demons Team News

Melbourne are set to regain James Harmes, Michael Hibberd and Luke Jackson after injury. Nathan Jones is still out but is a chance of reappearing if the Demons make the finals.
