Geelong vs Collingwood looks set to be a highlight of round seven (Getty Images)
Geelong Cats and Collingwood get AFL Round 7 underway on Thursday at Optus Stadium in Perth, with both sides looking to follow up a win last week.

The Cats lost three of the four quarters against the Brisbane Lions, but a dominant back half of the second quarter and the entirety of the third quarter saw them kick nine straight goals.

Collingwood were missing some key players to their side, but were still far too good for Hawthorn last week.

Geelong Form & Team News

Patrick Dangerfield, Tom Hawkins, Joel Selwood and Gary Ablett lit up the SCG last week, showing that experience really does count for a lot against a young Lions side.

The second and third quarters that the Geelong side produced would see them beat any side in the competition and now brings them right into contention for the flag.

Quinton Narkle and Mitch Duncan were the casualties, so expect Jack Steven to make his way back into this week's side.

Collingwood Form & Team News

Collingwood still showed some zest in last week's win over Hawthorn, even without Jordan De Goey or Josh Daicos. The Pies blew the Hawks off the park early and never gave Hawthorn a chance to get back into the contest in one of their most comprehensive displays of 2020.

Expect Daicos and Ben Reid to be both available for selection this week which gives Collingwood some power up forward.

Geelong vs Collingwood Head To Head

Geelong have the slightly better recent record against Collingwood, beating them in three of their last five clashes.

Most of those results have been very close so we are expecting this once again.

Geelong vs Collingwood Betting Odds

Collingwood have been installed as match favourites at 1.74 with Geelong the narrow outsiders at 2.10.

The line has been set for Collingwood at -3.5.

Geelong vs Collingwood Match Up

The big match up here looks between Tom Hawkins and Darcy Moore.

Hawkins has been in flying form the last two weeks, bagging six goals in two weeks, including tearing apart the league's best defender in Harris Andrews last week.

Moore is in career best form for Collingwood and was again as solid as a rock against a Hawthorn side that struggled to score.

Hawkins only needs to kick one or two goals, and take a big mark to get his side up and about which we are hoping he can do on Moore.

Geelong vs Collingwood Key Stats

  • Geelong have won three of their last five clashes
  • Both teams come into the match on the back of a win
  • In each of Geelong's last three matches, the highest scoring quarter has been the third
