Geelong Cats will play for the second time in four days when they take on North Melbourne at the Gabba on Wednesday.

The Cats took on West Coast Eagles on Saturday and were only overhauled late in the game, but now have travelled from Perth to Brisbane on a quick back-up which is a tough ask.

North Melbourne bounced back to some much needed form last week when belting Adelaide, but were playing in dismal fashion prior to that victory. Will they build on that victory against the Cats?

Geelong Cats Form

The Cats almost caused a big upset last week when leading the Eagles for most of the match despite being undermanned. But West Coast's Josh Kennedy found his mojo late in the game.

The quick back up makes it tough for all teams playing in Round 10 of the season, but even more so for Geelong. The Cats are on average a little older than other sides in the competition, and they played a gut buster on Saturday.

But if the Cats can bring Saturday's form to this match, they are clearly the ones to beat.

North Melbourne Form

North Melbourne found their form last week against a weak Adelaide Crows side which is yet to register a win this season.

They kicked a monster score in respect of the shorter quarters, showing just how poor this Adelaide side is. That said, North were impressive in defeating what was in front of them.

North Melbourne Team News

Th win over Adelaide came without Jared Polec or Ben Brown. Expect at least Polec to find his way back into the side on Wednesday.

Geelong Cats vs North Melbourne Head To Head

Geelong have won the last five clashes between the sides, with the latest being almost a 10-goal win. They kept North Melbourne to just two goals in that victory.

The Cats seem to match up well against the Kangaroos which makes it hard to see recent history changing any time soon.

Geelong Cats vs North Melbourne Betting Odds

Geelong have been installed as the short price favourites at $1.37 while North Melbourne are clear outsiders at 3.10

The line has been set for Geelong at -15.5.

Geelong Cats vs North Melbourne Match Up

Tom Hawkins will likely be matched up against Robbie Tarrant, an ultra solid defender from North.

Hawkins has found a bit of form in the last few weeks, kicking a couple of goals in wet conditions a fortnight ago and being a big target forward last week.

Tarrant has been in and out of form, but at his best he is clearly one of the best defenders in the league. The Hawkins match up suits him, being able to match bodies and spill the ball to ground for the likes of Luke McDonald to clean up.
