Gold Coast's finals hopes have been all but dashed by a horror run of form, but they get the chance to return to winning ways against second from bottom North Melbourne at Metricon Stadium on Sunday.

The Suns are winless in the last six games with five defeats and a draw, and that has left them needing a miracle to make the finals for the first time. North, meanwhile, have lost 10 of their last 11 matches since starting the season with back-to-back wins.

Gold Coast Form

Having looked strong candidates to play finals footy for the first time, Gold Coast have well and truly lost their way. A run of five losses and a draw over the last six games has left them in 14th spot and needing a miracle to finish in the eight.

Last weekend's defeat to Carlton was a hammer blow as the Suns were comprehensively beaten 60-27 by the Blues in Darwin. This represents their best chance to return to winning ways, but will Gold Coast grab it?

Gold Coast Team News

Alex Sexton, Brayden Fiorini and Nick Holman are all expected to come back in for Gold Coast after missing last week. Noah Anderson could be rested after a busy run of games for the young gun.

North Melbourne Form

What started out as a potentially positive season has descended into a nightmare for North Melbourne. Two wins in the opening two rounds has been followed by just one more from the next 11 games and the Kangaroos are on a four game losing run.

Since beating winless bottom side Adelaide Crows, North have lost to Geelong Cats, Melbourne Demons, Brisbane Lions, who they almost upset only to lose by a point, and Collingwood.
