GWS will ride the wave of momentum after knocking over Geelong last weekend with another victory, this time at the hands of the Dockers.

The Giants snapped a three-game losing streak with their thrilling four-point victory over the Cats and finished the round in 8th position on the ladder.

Fremantle did plenty right in their match against Collingwood, dominating the inside 50 and clearance count. But they couldn't convert on the scoreboard, going down by 14. They are in 11th position with four wins.

The Dockers have the game to take it up to the Giants but have lacked consistency. They will need to solve their conversion issues when heading inside 50. At the other end of the ground, Jesse Hogan looms large.

Take the Giants at the 1-39 with Tom Green finding plenty of ball, while Andrew Brayshaw can continue his good form for Fremantle.

  • The Giants have won all four matches at Engie Stadium against Fremantle
  • Tom Green is averaging 33 disposals this season
  • Andrew Brayshaw has had 30+ disposals in four of his past five matches.
  • The Dockers rank 17th in the competition for scores per inside 50

Head to Head

GWS have won the past two matches between the two sides. Both of those have been at ENGIE Stadium and the most recent came in Round 23 last season, a nine-point win. Tom Green (40 disposals) and Fremantle’s Andrew Brayshaw (41) had leather poisoning that day. Jesse Hogan booted six goals.

The Giants are four from four at the venue against Fremantle since joining the competition in 2012.

GWS Giants Form Analysis

GWS rediscovered their mojo against Geelong last weekend. Jesse Hogan was a star with seven goals, while the supply was set up from further up the ground by Tom Green (37 disposals), Lachie Whitfield (30) and Finn Callaghan.

The Giants rank 2nd for disposals in 2025 with Green and Whitfield both averaging 30+. Hogan has kicked 25 goals from six matches, returning the best average per game of any player in the competition.

GWS had lost their three games prior to the Geelong win and are 5-4 for the season. They have played five sides that did not make finals in 2024 for a return of 4-1.

GWS Giants Team News

Jake Stringer went down with a hamstring injury in the win over Geelong and will miss. Toby Greene rolled his ankle late in the third quarter but was able to play out the match. Toby Bedford is expected to be available. Stephen Coniglio is edging closer to a return. Max Gruzewski continued his good form in the VFL with four goals anc could come in to replace Stringer.
