GWS Giants vs Gold Coast Suns Preview
Gold Coast are yet to win away from home this season and I'm not expecting that to change. The Giants are backed to take the points with a 1-39 points margin predicted.

- The Giants have won 12 of the past 13 matches against the Suns with their only loss by just one point back in 2021.
- Just 2 of 8 Suns losses have been by 40+, while just 2 of 10 Giants wins have been by 40+.
- The Suns average just 65.87 points in attack as the away team, compared to 105.77 points as the home team.
- The Suns have scored 73 points or less as the away team in 6 of 7 matches, going over the 75.5 point team total just once on the road, against North Melbourne two weeks ago.
Head to Head
Greater Western Sydney have won their past three games against the Gold Coast and 12 of their past 13.
The Giants last win against the Suns was in round 4, kicking away to a 117-89 victory after regaining the lead late in the third quarter.
GWS Giants Form
To be honest, I had almost given up on the Giants this season after winning just 3 of seven games after going unbeaten in their first five.
But here we are putting faith back in GWS mostly on the back of their performance against Carlton a couple of weeks back, beating the Blues 116-104 and continuing at least their attacking form against Richmond with their second consecutive 100+ score.
The Giants are best when they play high-risk footy and force teams to keep up with them on the scoreboard, worrying a little less than they should about getting goals put on them themselves.
It’s exciting to watch and maybe not the most conventional way to play, especially if you want to be a real premiership contender, but it works for Adam Kingsley and his men and if they can keep winning then why not.
GWS Giants Team News
Stephen Coniglio is questionable with a shoulder injury that forced him from the field in last weekend’s win against Richmond.

Gold Coast Suns Form
The Gold Coast bounced back in superb fashion against Port after dropping the ball, literally against North Melbourne the week before.
The final result ended with a 14-point win to the Coast, but they were firmly in control of their match against the Power and they were always going to finish stronger, especially when Port got up to their old tricks and missed sitters.
The Suns really need to rectify their away form if they are going to play in September and claim their first road win of the year sometime soon.
Gold Coast Suns Team News
Bad news for the Suns with Ben Ainsworth ruled out for the rest of the season with a AC joint injury.
Good news is that Lachie Weller will be available for the first time this season after recovering from knee surgery after a 12 month lay off.
