The 2022 Norm Smith Medal will be presented to the best player on the ground in the AFL Grand Final between the Geelong Cats and the Sydney Swans. Who will win the top honour?

Currently, Geelong's Patrick Dangerfield ($7.00) heads the market after a best on ground performance against Brisbane Lions in their Preliminary Final last week.

Sydney pair Callum Mills ($9) and Luke Parker ($10) are second and third elects in markets, polling well in the Brownlow votes this week having been the two standout midfielders for the Swans.

Other leading candidates include Geelong's Jeremy Cameron ($10), who is a match winner as shown with his 19 Brownlow votes, and Tom Stewart ($11), who has been a force across the half-back line for the Cats.

2022 Norm Smith Medal Tips

Best Bet - Callum Mills

This Sydney star finished seventh in Sunday's Brownlow Medal count with 21 votes, signalling that umpires are now well and truly aware that he is a star of the game and can poll three votes.

Given that I have tipped Sydney to win, I do feel that he is the most likely Swans player to have the biggest influence on this match with clean hands and as a ball winner.

Players look for him on the ground and he stands out with ball in hand, so if he is not tagged out of this match, he is the player in the box seat to win.

Value Bet - Jeremy Cameron

A proper Geelong match winner, he finished in equal eighth spot in the Brownlow Medal with 19 votes, polling plenty of threes and catching the umpires attention.

Cameron is the type of player than can both create and kick goals, something that very few players in the competition can do. That makes him such a hard match up for any side.

At the price, Jeremy Cameron is the player that appeals most if Geelong are to win this Grand Final against Sydney.

Value Bet - Tom Papley

The firecracker of the Sydney side, Tom Papley may not be the biggest ball winner, but he is the player who will spur this side on and get them into the game in the Grand Final.

He also holds the ability to kick three or four goals, which of course catches the umpires attention when it comes to Norm Smith Medal voting.

The Sydney star is currently $19 with Neds and represents great value for anyone looking for a player at a big price.
