North Melbourne can push Collingwood to the brink at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night.

The Kangaroos have won just two games this season but have had an excellent last month of football. They held out a plucky Richmond outfit at the MCG last weekend by four points.

At the same venue a day earlier, Collingwood accounted for Adelaide in a tight tussle by 10 points. The Magpies sit on top of the ladder with eight wins from their 10 matches.

They will look to restrict North Melbourne’s scoring and top the competition for fewest points conceded in 2025.

But with a host of promising youngsters in solid form as well as some solid scoring options inside 50, expect this one to go deep. Take the Roos with the start. Nick Larkey can continue his good form against the black and white, while at the other end, Brody Mihocek looms large for Collingwood.

  • North Melbourne went down by just one point the last time the two sides met.
  • The Magpies past three matches have been decided by less than 15 points.
  • Nick Larkey has kicked 14 goals from his past four matches against Collingwood.
  • Brody Mihocek is averaging 2+ goals per game this season.

Head to Head

Collingwood have claimed the past five matches between the two sides. The Magpies overcame an eight-goal deficit at half-time in the Round 14 match last season to score by a point.

Nick Daicos and Luke Davies-Uniacke have averaged 27 disposals from their past three for the respective sides. North Melbourne’s Nick Larkey has kicked 14 goals from his past four matches against Collingwood.

North Melbourne Kangaroos Form Analysis

After a series of hefty defeats from Round 3 to Round 6, the Kangaroos have had a solid month of footy, pushing Port Adelaide and Essendon before drawing their Round 9 clash against last years premiers, Brisbane.

In the four-point win over Richmond, Cam Zurhaar proved to be the difference with four goals, while Nick Larkey booted two. Larkey has kicked 23 goals from 10 matches this season, while Zurhaar has 19 from 10. Paul Curtis returns from suspension and has 18 from seven matches.

North Melbourne have been a strong clearance side in 2025, led by Luke Davies Uniacke, who had seven last week en route to 27 disposals. He is averaging 25 disposals in 2025, while Caleb Daniel (26) and Harry Sheezel (29) have found plenty of it.

North are unlikely to make too many changes to their winning lineup. Will Phillips, Eddie Ford, Luke Urquhart and Zac Fisher have some solid VFL form and are pushing for selection.

Collingwood Magpies Form Analysis

Six of Collingwood’s last eight matches have been decided by 39.5 points or less and there have been some close calls in recent weeks, losing to Geelong by three before grinding out wins over Fremantle and Adelaide.

The Magpies top the competition for defence and have conceded the least amount of points per game this season. At the other end of the ground, they are averaging 97 points per game over the last six rounds. Jamie Elliott and Brody Mihocek are both averaging 2+ goals per game this season.

Nick Daicos continues to be a ball magnet and is averaging 29 disposals, while his brother Josh is at 27. That pair has 28 and 29 in the win over Adelaide in Round 10.

Collingwood Magpies Team News

Collingwood had no injuries out of the North Melbourne match. Darcy Moore and Jordan de Goey are on the sidelines and might not quite be ready to return in time. Tom Mitchell is edging closer towards a return.
