The Gather Round clash provides the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns a golden opportunity to continue their streak.

Damien Hardwick’s side are three from three this season and another win will see them position themselves well to make the finals for the first time in their history.

The Suns come off a thrilling one-point win over Adelaide last weekend and chalked up big victories over Melbourne and West Coast prior to that.

North Melbourne were disappointing in Round 4, reverting back to old habits in their 65-point loss to the Sydney Swans. The Roos are 1-3 after their four matches and although there were some positive signs in the matches prior to the Swans loss, this does seem beyond them against a Suns side that are red-hot at the moment.

Damien Hardwick’s side will have a stack of opportunities up forward and a big score is on the cards. Take the Suns to cover the line. Ben King and Ben Long will be amongst the goals.

  • Gold Coast are unbeaten this season and have registered two big wins from their three matches.
  • Ben King has kicked 12 goals from three matches in 2025.
  • Ben Long has kicked seven from three.
  • The Suns top the competition for inside 50s and are 2nd for scoring.

Head to Head

North Melbourne have won two of their past three matches against the Gold Coast Suns, including the Round 17 encounter last year by four points. Harry Sheezel had 35 disposals in that match, while Colby McKercher had 37. Nick Larkey booted three goals.

Sam Flanders and Noah Anderson have averaged 25+ disposals in their past three matches against North Melbourne. Nick Larkey has booted 14 from his past four against the Suns.

North Melbourne Kangaroos Form Analysis

North Melbourne showed promising signs in their first three matches with a big win over Melbourne with competitive losses against the Western Bulldogs and Adelaide either side of that. They averaged 100 points per game in those three matches but found restricted freedom against Sydney, scoring just 52 in the 65-point loss.

Nick Larkey has booted 14 goals this season, topping the competition for goals scored alongside Adelaide’s Riley Thilthorpe. Harry Sheezel, Caleb Daniel and Jy Simpkin are all averaging over 25 disposals. North rank 3rd for disposals per game in 2025, coming on the back of their uncontested possession game (2nd).

Defence remains a concern and the Roos rank 15th for fewest goals conceded. They have given up over 100 points in their three losses.

North Melbourne Kangaroos Team News

George Wardlaw is a likely inclusion after making a successful return via the VFL. Finn O’Sullivan and Jackson Archer will return. Finnbar Maley is also in the mix.

Gold Coast Suns Form Analysis

Gold Coast have won all three of their matches, chalking up big victories over West Coast (87 points) and Melbourne (56 points) before their big escape last weekend.

The Suns top the competition for inside 50s and are 2nd for scoring. This has come on the back of a solid contested possession (2nd) and clearance (4th) game.

Noah Anderson is averaging over 30 disposals per game, while the inside bull, Matt Rowell is at just under 28. Key recruits in Daniel Rioli and John Noble have provided plenty of run off half-back, going at over 20 per game. Ben King has cashed in up forward with 12 goals from three matches, while Ben Long has seven.

Gold Coast Suns Team News

The Gold Coast are unlikely to make any changes to their side. Max Knobel and Lachlan Gulbin are among those with good form in the VFL but will have to continue to wait.
