Adelaide will have too much firepower for Port Adelaide with the two sides squaring off in another Showdown at the Adelaide Oval.

The Crows have been the better performed of the two Adelaide sides this season with five wins from their eight matches and come off a dominant 60-point win over Carlton last weekend.

In the same round, Port Adelaide were smashed by 91 points against the Western Bulldogs and were decimated in the middle of the ground. They are now 3-5.

While the Power have shown they are more than capable on their day, they have lacked some consistency at the clearances, relying on too few.

The Crows scoring options will be a key difference in this match. Take Adelaide in the head to head, while Izak Rankine and Taylor Walker should be amongst the goals.

  • Adelaide have won three of the past four matches between the two sides
  • Izak Rankine and Taylor Walker have each kicked nine goals from their past three against the Power
  • Adelaide lead the competition for points scored in 2025
  • The Power rank 17th for clearance and contested possession differential

Head to Head

Adelaide have won three of the past four matches between the two sides but the Power took out the Round 23 encounter last season by 22 points.

Zak Butters has averaged over 30 disposals in his past four matches against the Crows. Jordan Dawson has averaged a tick over 25 for Adelaide. Izak Rankine and Taylor Walker have each kicked nine goals from their past three against the Power.

Port Adelaide Power Form Analysis

Port Adelaide’s season is on the edge. They were 1-3 after their first four matches then rebounded with three straight wins, producing a backs to the wall win over Hawthorn before scraping through with victories over Sydney and North Melbourne but were never in it against the Bulldogs last weekend.

The Power rank 17th for clearance and contested possession differential, leading to some big losses, relying on big games from the likes of Zak Butters and Jason Horne-Francis. Those two were outmuscled by a Bulldogs midfield that had too much depth last weekend.

Butters and Connor Rozee are both averaging 28 disposals this season, while Mitch Georgiades has kicked 18 goals from eight matches. Willie Rioli, Sam Powell-Pepper and Darcy Byrne-Jones have provided ground level support, going at 1+ goal per game.

Port Adelaide Power Team News

It will be interesting to see how Port Adelaide react at the selection table after their effort last weekend. Rory Atkins, Ryan Burton and Brandon Zerk-Thatcher are among the listed players in the SANFL at the moment.

Adelaide Crows Form Analysis

Adelaide lead the competition for points scored in 2025, going at 104 points per game. They had 30 scoring shots in their win over the Blues and shared their goals around. Riley Thithorpe, Darcy Fogarty and Taylor Walker are all going at 2+ goals per game, ranking in the top 12 of the competition.

The Crows have been solid in the ruck (2nd for hitouts) and for disposals and clearances (5th in both). They have restricted the opposition and are 3rd for least clearances and disposals to opponents. They stifled Carlton’s big names last weekend, denying them inside 50 opportunities and restricting the Blues to just 50 points.

Adelaide Crows Team News

Adelaide are unlikely to make too many changes to the side that defeated Carlton. Mitch Hinge will return from suspension.
