Port Adelaide are set to enjoy a day out in front of their home fans at the Adelaide Oval on Saturday.

The Power have squared their win-loss ledger at 3-3 after wins against Hawthorn and Sydney in recent weeks.

Things have gone from bad to worse for North Melbourne in that time and the Kangaroos come off an 82-point hiding at the hands of Carlton on Good Friday.

They conceded nine last quarter goals in that match, which followed similar second half fadeouts against the Gold Coast in Sydney in the weeks prior to that.

Alistair Clarkson’s side will need to start well or this could get real ugly. Expect Zak Butters and Jason Horne Francis to be dominant in the middle for Port Adelaide, who can cover the line in this match.

  • Port Adelaide have won their past five against North Melbourne by an average margin of 59 points.
  • The Kangaroos have lost their past four matches this year by an average margin of 58 points.
  • Mitch Georgiades has kicked 15 goals in 2025.
  • Zak Butters is averaging 30 disposals this season.

Head to Head

Port Adelaide have won their past five against North Melbourne by an average margin of 59 points. They have not met at the Adelaide Oval since Round 6 in 2019, a 16-point win for the Power.

Ollie Wines has averaged 27.5 disposals for Port in his past four matches against North, while Luke Davies-Uniacke has averaged 27 for the Kangas. Cam Zurhaar has kicked six goals from his past four matches against Port Adelaide.

Port Adelaide Power Form Analysis

After a concerning opening month that saw the Power lose three of their past four, last year’s Preliminary Finalists have rebounded with wins over Hawthorn (30 points) and Sydney (eight points).

Their win last weekend came on the back of some accuracy in front of goal, scoring 13.7 to 10.17, while their big names in Zak Butters and Connor Rozee have been on fire in recent weeks. Rozee has lined up at half-back and has had 27 and 28 disposals. He ranks 11th in the competition for metres gained. Butters is averaging 30 disposals in his three matches this season.

Coming up against a North Melbourne side that concede high scores, Mitch Georgiades (15 goals this season), Willie Rioli (10) and Sam Powell-Pepper (eight) might be in for a big day up forward

Port Adelaide Power Team News

Port Adelaide are unlikely to be making too many changes to their side. Joe Richards is likely to come back in, while Ollie Wines was subbed out with a heart issue last weekend but has been given the all-clear to play. Ryan Burton and Todd Marshall are among those on the sidelines.

North Melbourne Kangaroos Form Analysis

North Melbourne’s defensive woes are well documented and they gave up 153 points in the loss to Carlton last weekend. They are conceding an average of 117 points per game in 2025, ranking last in the competition for fewest points conceded.

They have lost their past four by an average margin of 59 points with those coming against Adelaide, Sydney, Gold Coast and Carlton.

The Roos are finding their share of the football and rank 4th for disposals. Jy Simpkin, Caleb Daniel and Harry Sheezel are all averaging 25+ but this has not translated into inside 50’s, ranking 16th in this measure. Nick Larkey (17 goals) and Paul Curtis (15) have provided solid output in front of goals.

North Melbourne Kangaroos Team News

Zac Fisher will miss with a hamstring injury and it will be interesting to see if Alistair Clarkson makes wholesale changes after the poor effort against Carlton last weekend. Riley Hardeman, Will Phillips and Geordie Payne are among some possible inclusions.
