Fremantle will make it three wins on the trot when they take on Richmond at Barossa Park.

The Dockers have rebounded after suffering a narrow loss to Sydney in Round 2. They held their nerve last weekend by overcoming their poor record in close matches to hand the Western Bulldogs a 16-point defeat.

Richmond went down by a respectable 28-point margin against the reigning premiers, Brisbane, at the MCG last weekend.

There are plenty of green shoots at Tigerland as they look to rebuild but the Dockers will have too much depth in this match.

Caleb Serong looks an absolute lock for 30+ disposals again but odds are skinny there. Consider Andrew Brayshaw. Josh Treacy will be hard to stop up forward. Nick Vlaustin can provide some rebound for Richmond.

Richmond enjoyed a fairytale start with their 13-point win over Carlton in Round 1 but have since gone down by 72, 82 and 28. Their last loss had the potential to be a blowout before some late goals added respectability to the scoreline.

Since the beginning of 2024, the Tigers have lost 24 of 27. 10 of those losses ere by more than 39 points, while another two were by 39.

The Tigers rank 17th for disposals this season, 18th for inside 50s and 15th for scores. They will struggle to have scoreboard impact in this match. Seth Campbell has kicked 2+ goals in each of his four games this season, while Sam Lalor has kicked five from his four matches.

Fremantle Dockers Form Analysis

Fremantle are 2-2 after four matches and picked up a confidence boosting 38-point win over the West Coast Eagles last weekend before their triumph over the Bulldogs.

Caleb Serong has been in red hot form, picking up 35 and 38 disposals in the past fortnight. Andrew Brayshaw and Jaegar O’Meara are going at 25+ this season, while Josh Treacy has booted 11 goals. He has kicked 3+ in his past three matches.

The Dockers win over the Dogs came despite going down in the inside 50 count (44-63). Their ability to defend at key stages was the difference and since the Round 1 blowout, they have held their opposition to 81 points or less.

Fremantle are likely to welcome back Hayden Young. Luke Jackson will miss with a hamstring injury. Sean Darcy is the obvious replacement but is unlikely to be ready to make his return.
