Gold Coast can continue their hot start to the season when they take on Richmond at Marvel Stadium on Easter Saturday.

The Suns head into this with a win-loss record of 4-0 and have produced some big margins in their wins this season, including a 52-point victory over North Melbourne last weekend with Ben King booting five goals.

Richmond are 1-4 in a year that is expected to be one of development with the Tigers looking to rebuild. They went down to Fremantle last weekend by 61 and are struggling in a number of key measure such as scoring, inside 50s and clearances.

The Suns are leading the way in a number of these measures. Look for Matt Rowell and Noah Anderson to continue their hot starts to the season, while Ben King can cash in up forward with another big game.

  • Richmond have lost their past four matches by an average margin of over 60 points
  • The Suns lead the competition for scoring in 2025, going at 122 points per game
  • Ben King has booted 17 goals in four matches this season.
  • Noah Anderson is averaging 30.5 disposals this season

Head to Head

Gold Coast have won the past five matches between the two sides by an average margin of 21 points. Two of those were held at Marvel Stadium. The most recent match came in Round 24 last season at the MCG, a 28-point win for the Suns. Ben Long booted three goals, while Noah Anderson and Touk Miller both had 30+ disposals.

Richmond Tigers Form Analysis

After a boilover against Carlton in Round 1, reality has hit at Tigerland with the young cubs dropping their past four by an average margin of over 60 points. Last weekend, they couldn't match Fremantle in the clearances and contested possessions, conceding 65 inside 50s to 36 in the 61-point loss.

The Tigers rank 17th for disposals this season and last for inside 50s and tackles. They are 16th for points scored and 17th for fewest conceded.

Jacob Hopper is averaging 27 disposals per game. Jayden Short and Tim Taranto are the only others at 20+. Seth Campbell has booted nine goals from his five matches. Maurice Rioli was the only multiple goalkicker last weekend with two majors, out of Richmond’s total of seven against the Dockers.

Richmond Tigers Team News

No injury concerns out of the Dockers match. Noah Balta is eligible to play but uncertainty surrounds his return with a pending court hearing to come next week.

Gold Coast Suns Form Analysis

Gold Coast have handed some big losses to a few of the struggling sides of the competition in West Coast (87 points), Melbourne (58) and North Melbourne (52). Their close one came a fortnight ago with a one-point win over Adelaide.

The Suns lead the competition for scoring in 2025, going at 122 points per game. Ben King has kicked 17 from his four matches, while Ben Long has booted 10.

The Suns rank just 11th for disposals but are efficient when heading forward, capitalising on ruck domination by Jarrod Witts, ranking top for hitouts, 2nd for clearances and top for inside 50s. Matt Rowell is the leading centre clearance player in the competition and is averaging 27 disposals per game, while Noah Anderson is averaging 30.5 disposals.

Gold Coast Suns Team News

Gold Coast have no major injury concerns and are unlikely to make too many changes to their side. Alex Sexton and Lachlan Gulbin are among those trying to break into the side.
