Hawthorn will stamp their top four credentials with a strong showing over St Kilda on Saturday night at Marvel Stadium.
After a mid-season slump, the Hawks have begun to hit their straps, returning to some of the ‘Hokball’ form that we saw late in 2024. After accounting for top four contenders, the Western Bulldogs and Adelaide, in the past month, they handed North Melbourne an 85-point defeat in Round 16. The Hawks are in 5th spot with a 10-5 win-loss record
St Kilda have slumped to 15th spot on the ladder and are 5-10. They were in the game against Fremantle last weekend before coughing up late goals to go down by 12 points.
The Saints have struggled to sustain scoreboard pressure in recent times, while they ahve dropped their past three matches at Marvel Stadium.
The Hawks will bring the pressure around the contest and we can expect their forwards to enjoy plenty of supply. Take them to cover the line with Mabior Chol against the goals yet again. Jarman Impey represents some value in disposal calculations.

They have lacked a focal point up forward. Isaac Keeler was the only multiple goalkicker last weekend. Hawthorn have won their past three. They defeated potential top four sides in the Western Bulldogs and Adelaide before their big triumph over North Melbourne. Their win against North was their biggest of the season and their third by 39.5 points or more.
The Hawks dominated the disposals, inside 50 and clearance count, as well as the scoreboard last weekend. In the past five rounds, Hawthorn rank 5th for disposals. Karl Amon picked up 33 disposals last weekend, while Jai Newcombe had 27.
Jack Gunston kicked a career-high seven goals last weekend, while Mabior Chol chimed in with five. Gunston has kicked 12 goals in the past four matches, while Chol has 10 from his past three.

Dylan Moore was subbed out in the third term against North Melbourne and is a watch at training but is likely to be available. Hawthorn have a few selection headaches with a number of key players expected to be available, including James Sicily and James Worpel. Calsher Dear looks ready to return after a big game in the VFL, while Mitchell Lewis got through his comeback match in that level.
