St Kilda vs North Melbourne Predictions

St Kilda are overwhelming favourites coming up against the weakest side in the competition. Although disgraced last week, the Saints should prove too good for a North Melbourne that is set for the wooden spoon.

  • St Kilda have won 4 of their 10 matches this season.
  • North Melbourne have lost 17 of their last 18 matches.
  • Six of North Melbourne's losses have come by 40+ points this season

Head to Head

This is an interesting recent head to head record with North Melbourne leading the count 4-1.

The Kangaroos have won their last four clashes, albeit not by a huge margin, but they have been getting the job done.

North Melbourne of March 2020 would smash this Kangaroos side, so take the recent record with a pinch of salt.

St Kilda Form

Saints were so poor against the Western Bulldogs last weekend. They were beaten by 111 points, a margin that should not be seen from a side that played finals last year.

St Kilda are struggling to play a team brand of footy, and they simply are not kicking winning scores. Saints have failed to reach 70 points in six of their 10 matches this season.

They have, however, won two of their last four matches.

If they can get on top early, this is their opportunity to straighten themselves up and get back some confidence that has been lost this season.

St Kilda Team News

We are unlikely to see defender Jake Carlisle again this season after he was sent for surgery.

James Frawley, Shaun McKernan and Hunter Clark have all joined the injured ranks this week.

Jack Bytel and Jack Lonie are also left out this week, and Daniel McKenzie is not ready to return from a calf injury.

In come debutant Oscar Clavarino, Luke Dunstan, Nick Coffield and Mason Wood.

North Melbourne Form

North Melbourne are the bottom side in the competition, with their sole win coming against Hawthorn two rounds ago where they came away seven point winners.

They were back to their old habits last week, getting thumped by Essendon by 72 points, again not reaching 70 points scored, so offensively it is simply not working for them.

They do have some talent in their squad, but their depth drops off very quickly and this is causing them a world of hurt, so expect something similar if St Kilda play to their best.

North Melbourne Team News

The Kangaroos are unchanged.

Their big news is that Robbie Tarrant will likely play VFL this weekend and hopefully return to the side over the coming three weeks.
