The Saints and the Bulldogs were two of the disappointments of the opening round of the 2020 AFL season, but both teams get a chance to atone whene they meet at Marvel Stadium.

In a truncated season where wins are more valuable than ever, who will get their season back on track?

St Kilda Form & Team News

The Saints only have themselves to blame for losing their opening round match against North Melbourne, thowing away a five goal lead midway through the third quarter. St Kilda conceded six of the last seven goals of the match to capitulate in the most stunning way possible.

As a result, St Kilda coach Brett Ratten has swung the selection axe, dropping Dylan Roberton, Dean Kent and Luke Dunstan in favour of Jake Carlise and speedy duo Nick Hind and Nick Coffield.

Western Bulldogs Form & Team News

The Bulldogs were one of the disappointing teams of round one, going down to Collingwood by 52 points in a dismal display. The Doggies were blown off the park early and never recovered, scoring just five goals for the entire match.

The good news for the Dogs is they have had plenty of time to soul-search following the heavy loss and will be fit and firing ahead of Sunday's first game of the season relaunch. The bad news is former vice-captain Lachie Hunter is facing a club-imposed suspension while ex-skipper Easton Wood misses through injury.

St Kilda vs Western Bulldogs Match Up

Marcus Bontempelli and Brad Hill are without question the superior midfielders for their respective teams and the keys heading into Sunday. The new Bulldogs skipper didn't have a big impact in his side's disappointing loss to Collingwood, while Hill was at his prolific best in his St Kilda debut.

The battle between the star on-ballers will go a long way to deciding this contest.
