The Carlton Blues were consigned to their third loss in as many games, with an 85-57 defeat at the hands of the Collingwood Magpies at home seeing their poor season continue. However, they have been excellent on the road and are value here.
Head to Head
In their last 10 matches, the Swans have come out on top six times to the Blues' four. Home advantage has been important, with the side hosting winning the last four in a row. The last side to win on the road was the Blues back in 2019.
Sydney Swans Form
The Swans have frustrated this season, with a good start to the campaign making way for defeats that have left them languishing in 12th place on the ladder at this stage of the season.
Their 93-90 win over the North Melbourne Kangaroos was important as it ended a run of four defeats in a row, but it is worth noting that their opponents have lost eight of their 10 games this season and still threatened to stun the Swans.
This match is very important for the Swans. A win would see them keep their noses in the fight for a spot in the offseason, while a defeat prove fatal.
Sydney Swans Team News
The Swans regain Tom Hickey (concussion), but Peter Ladhams (ankle) is out.
Sam Wicks comes in for his first appearance of the season and Lewis Melican plays his first game since 2001.

Carlton Form
Carlton's woes were put on full show in their last match as they went down in an 85-57 loss to the Collingwood Magpies at home.
Of course, the Magpies currently lead the way at the top of the ladder after losing just one of their opening 10, but what was frustrating for the Blues is that they were consummately brushed aside in the match.
While they have struggled at times this season, they have been fairly good on the road, beating the GWS Giants, North Melbourne Kangaroos and West Coast Eagles, while they have drawn with the Richmond Tigers and lost to the Adelaide Crows.
Carlton Team News
Carlton bring Tom De Koning back for this one for the first time since Round 5, while Brodie Kemp is the other in for the Blues.
Lewis Young, Jack Silvagni and Ed Curnow all drop out.

Verdict
Despite the fact that both sides have struggled this season, I feel the Blues are worth backing on the road. Their strong record shows they have been playing fair well on their travels, and I predict a tight win for the Blues.
