Western Bulldogs vs Brisbane Lions Predictions

The Dogs put on a show last week against North Melbourne, winning by almost 130 points. Brisbane were on the other end of the spectrum, kicking a goal on the siren to topple the Pies.

Brisbane have won the last two meetings and have the confidence from last week's win behind them. They are tipped to cover the handicap with a +11.5 start.

  • Brisbane Lions have won their last 2 matches against the Western Bulldogs
  • The underdog has covered the line in each of Brisbane Lions' last 6 matches

Head to Head

Western Bulldogs hold the recent record advantage 4-2, but the last two matches have gone the way of the Brisbane Lions, both notably played at the Gabba.

Their only previous clash at Mars Stadium went the way of the Dogs, who dominated the second and third quarters of the match in 2019.

Western Bulldogs Form

The Dogs put on one of the most impressive displays I have seen in a long time last week when simply blowing North Melbourne away by 128 points.

Headlined by Josh Bruce, he managed to kick a career best effort 10 goals, while Adam Treloar picked up 27 touches along with three goals in what was his best effort as a Dogs.

Despite the Dogs being 3-0, Brisbane are a different calibre to North Melbourne and the market is taking too much out of last week's win and possibly giving us unders on the home side here.

Western Bulldogs Team News

Ryan Gardner is the only out this week after injuring his shoulder shortly after the first bounce last week.

Hayden Crozier will be a big in for the Dogs over the next week or two as he returns from a shoulder injury of his own.

Brisbane Lions Form

The Lions trailed for the majority of last week's match against Collingwood, but came home hard in the final quarter with an after the siren goal from midfielder Zac Bailey earned a 73-72 win.

But for Jarryd Lyons and Daniel Rich dominating from the half-back to midfield, the Lions probably would not have got over the line.

But none the less, they did and it was through grit they record an impressive win just a week after losing by a single point to Geelong Cats.

It was a much needed win after an 0-2 start.

Brisbane Lions Team News

There are three big ins for the Lions with Jarrod Berry and Darcy Gardiner both back, along with ruckman Oscar McInerney.
