Two teams in dire need of a win meet under the roof at Marvel Stadium on Friday with the Western Bulldogs hosting the GWS Giants.

The Bulldogs were dismal against St Kilda on Sunday, getting smashed off the park from the opening bounce in what has become a worrying trend. The Gaints were outworked and outmuscled by the Kangaroos at home and will look to bounce back sharply against a lowly opponent.

Western Bulldogs Form & Team News

The Bulldogs have been one of the major disappointments of the 2020 AFL season and currently sit at the bottom of the ladder with a percentage of just over 47. For a team many predicted to be a top-four contender, it's a horific start to the campaign.

There's question marks over a number of players in the side, including high profile recruit Josh Bruce, who has just one goal to his name after two games.

GWS Giants Form & Team News

GWS will be looking to bounce back after a lacklustre game against North Melbourne. The Giants were beaten around the contest by the battle-hardened Roos and despite mounting a last quarter challenge, couldn't sustain the rage.

Josh Kelly is looking to continue a hot run of form at Marvel Stadium, where he has gathered 25 or more touches in his last five games at the venue.

Western Bulldogs vs GWS Giants Head To Head

The Bulldogs vs Giants fixture has been one of the most unlikely modern rivalries, but these two seem to have a genuine dislike for each other.

Since that famous preliminary final win to the Dogs in 2016, GWS has beaten of its opponents in three of their last five meetings, including a 58 point thrashing in last year's elimination final in Sydney.

Western Bulldogs vs GWS Giants Match Up

Toby Greene is the man that the Dogs must stop on Friday. The fiesty foward was quiet last week, which means he'll be keen to atone against the Western Bulldogs.

Greene has also made a habit of scoring goals against the Bulldogs, nailing 11 majors in his last three games. The question for Luke Beveridge will be whether or not they go man-on-man on Greene or try to make him accountable on the defensive end.

Greene without question holds the key to this match up.

The GWS Giants are the far superior team and despite losing last week, can hold their heads up high that the effort was there. The same cannot be said about the Dogs, who have been the biggest disappointments of the season so far.

We're backing Josh Kelly to get 25 or more touches in what should be an easy win.
