St Kilda were excellent in Round 1 as they edged past the Fremantle Dockers in a 67-52 win, but I'm backing a reaction from the Bulldogs to last week's no-show.

Head to Head

The Bulldogs have won the last two matches between the pair, triumphing 84-56 in 2022 which followed a 144-33 humiliation of their opponents in 2021.

Western Bulldogs Form

The Western Bulldogs were hugely frustrating in their opening match as their old failings came back to bite them again in a 115-65 loss to Melbourne Demons.

The 100+ points they conceded was a hugely worrying way to start the season, and it is something they managed five times in the 2022 campaign.

Put this alongside turnovers and struggles keeping the ball and the Bulldogs have some serious questions to answer.

Despite a swathe of injuries, St Kilda put in a superb defensive performance that had the Dockers in a choke hold throughout the match.
