Chicago come into this series on a three-game win streak as they try to clinch a spot in the MLB playoffs.

The Cubs’ postseason push has faltered earlier this month as they lost 10 times in a 13-game spell.

That run included a five-game losing skid in mid-September that saw them lose back-to-back games in Colorado before suffering three consecutive defeats in Arizona.

Chicago snapped that skid with a 14-1 home blowout of Pittsburgh, only to then lose the next two meetings, 13-7 and 8-6.

The Cubs got back on track late last week though, sweeping Colorado at home courtesy of 6-0, 6-3 and 4-3 wins.

Atlanta Braves Form

Atlanta enter this series having lost four of their last six games and with a place in the playoffs secured.

The Braves went on a four-game losing skid earlier this month, which started with a trio of defeats in Miami.

They were beaten 9-6, 11-5 and 12-6, before returning home and losing 7-1 to Philadelphia in the series opener.

Atlanta ended their slump with a 9-3 victory over the Phillies, only to then lose the final game of the series 6-5.

The Braves bounced back immediately though, winning 10-3 and 9-6 in Washington, before replying to a 3-2 defeat to the Nationals with an 8-5 win in Sunday’s double-header.

Jameson Taillon has been in good form and Chicago continue to score at a consistent clip, so we like them as an underdog here.
