Los Angeles enter the 2025 season looking to become the first team to win back-to-back World Series’ since the Yankees won three straight between 1998 and 2000.

No team won more regular season games than the Dodgers last season, as they stacked up 98 to claim the NL West title.

That secured another trip to the postseason, and having enjoyed a Wild Card bye they battled past San Diego in the Division Series, winning 3-2.

Los Angeles than clinched the National League Championship Series, beating the New York Mets 4-2, to set up a World Series showdown with the Yankees.

The Dodgers raced out to a three-game lead, before responding to an 11-4 defeat in the ‘Big Apple’ with a 7-6 home success that wrapped up the World Series.

Chicago go into the new season looking to bring an end to their playoff exile, having not made the postseason since 2020.

The Cubs dropped their first two games of the 2024 campaign, before rallying with a good run of form between late March and late April.

Their form went downhill between May and July though, as they dug themselves into a hole in their quest to reach the postseason.

Chicago showed signs of life in late August as they won nine times in a 10-game spell to stay in the hunt, but they were unable to maintain that form.

The Cubs ultimately finished with an 83-79 for the second season running, resulting in a third-place finish in the NL Central.
