Los Angeles entered this series on the back of a victory, but in underwhelming form having gone 6-6 in their previous 12 games.

The Dodgers disappointing run started on the road in Pittsburgh as they were beaten 1-0 and 10-6 by the Pirates.

They took the final meeting 11-7, and built on that with 2-1 and 11-3 victories at the New York Yankees before losing the last game of the series, 6-4.

Los Angeles then returned home to open the series against Texas with a 15-2 victory, only to then lose the next couple of meetings, 3-2 and 3-1.

The Dodgers fared better against Kansas City however, as they sandwiched a 7-2 defeat to the Royals with 4-3 and 3-0 victories.

Colorado Rockies Form

Colorado came into this series having stacked up a bunch of losses over the past few weeks, going 4-11 in their previous 15 games.

The Rockies ended May with a 4-1 win at the Los Angeles Dodgers, only to then lose the next couple of meetings, 4-1 and 4-0.

They were then swept at home by Cincinnati, losing 13-3, 4-1 and 12-7, before heading out on the road to split a four-game series with St Louis.

Colorado then moved on to Minnesota for a three-game series with the Twins, sandwiching a 5-4 victory with 5-0 and 17-9 losses.

The Rockies returned home after that and lost two of their three games against Pittsburgh, suffering 5-2 and 8-2 defeats either side of a 16-4 win.
