Minnesota enter this series having missed out on a sweep of Kansas City with last night's defeat to the Royals.

The Twins ended July with an 8-3 victory at the New York Mets, and backed it up by starting August with a three-game series of the Chicago White Sox, winning 10-2, 6-2 and 13-7.

They took their win streak to five games with a 3-0 victory at the Chicago Cubs, only to see it end with 7-3 and 8-3 defeats at Wrigley Field.

Minnesota rallied to win a double-header with Cleveland, 4-2 and 6-3, but they were forced to settle for a split of the series as they dropped the final two meetings 2-1 and 5-3.

The Twins rebounded against Kansas City, winning the first two games of the series 8-3 and 13-3, only to lose the final encounter 4-1.

Texas Rangers Form

Texas come into this series having snapped a three-game losing skid with last night's victory in Boston.

The Rangers started August with a home series against Boston and sandwiched a 7-4 win over the Red Sox with 11-6 and 7-2 defeats.

They then welcomed Houston to town and made a winning start to the series, only to follow up that 4-3 victory with 4-2 and 6-2 defeats to the Astros.

Texas went out on the road after that and sandwiched a 9-4 victory at the New York Yankees with 8-0 and 8-7 losses in the ‘Big Apple’.

The Rangers then moved on to Boston and dropped the first two meetings with the Red Sox, 5-4 and 9-4, before winning the series finale, 9-7.

Bailey Ober has been a reliable performer this season and has been excellent in recent outings.

Texas, on the other hand, have been stacking up losses in recent weeks, so are taking the Twins in this one.
