New York missed out on the series sweep, losing 9-4 to the Sox in the series finale, but they would not be denied against Colorado, sweeping the Rockies with 4-2, 8-2 and 5-3 victories.

The Mets enjoyed a winning start to this series in Los Angeles, beating the Dodgers 4-3, before rebounding from a 6-5 defeat with a 6-1 win last night.

Los Angeles enter this matchup looking to avenge their second defeat in this series with the New York Mets.

The Dodgers enjoyed a three-game winning run in late May as they beat Arizona 4-3 and 3-1, before getting the better of the New York Mets on the road, 7-5.

They lost the next two games against the Mets though, 5-2 and 3-1, only to rebound in Cleveland with 7-2 and 9-5 victories.

Los Angeles missed out on the sweep as they lost the finale, 7-4, and the same happened against the New York Yankees as they won the first two meetings, 8-5 and 18-2, only to lose the final clash 7-3.

That became back-to-back defeats for the Dodgers as they lost 4-3 to the Mets, and they then failed to back up a 6-5 victory as they lost 6-1 last night.
