New York Mets at Milwaukee Brewers Predictions & Tips

Milwaukee are tipped to win the opening game of this Wild Card series.

The Brewers dominated the Mets during the regular season, and New York head to Wisconsin having just played an important double-header against Atlanta yesterday.

  • Milwaukee pitcher Freddy Peralta is 3-0 with a 2.60 ERA in his career against New York
  • New York Mets have lost 4 of their previous 6 games
  • The Under has cashed in 7 of the last 10 meetings (1 push)

Head To Head

  • Milwaukee Brewers won the regular season series 5-1
  • New York Mets won 5-0 when the two teams last met on September 29

New York Mets Form

New York booked their place in the postseason by finishing second in the National League East with an 89-73 record.

The Mets opened the season with a five-game losing skid and blew hot and cold during the first couple of months of the season.

They kept themselves in the mix though, and a good run throughout the summer, including a nine-game in streak, ensured they will be playing postseason baseball.

New York now face a Milwaukee team that beat them in two of the three meetings in Wisconsin last week.

The Mets go into this series having split a regular season double-header in Atlanta yesterday, winning 8-7 before losing 3-0.

Milwaukee Brewers Form

Milwaukee enter the playoffs having compiled a 93-69 record to finish top of the National League Central.

The Brewers got off to a hot start, and although there were some dips in the second half of the season, they finished 10 games clear of St Louis in the division.

They ended the regular season by winning five of their final seven games on the schedule.

Milwaukee avoided being swept by Arizona as they won the series finale 10-9, and they then went out on the road to sandwich a 2-1 defeat in Pittsburgh with 7-2 and 5-2 wins.

The Brewers returned home after that and closed out the regular season against playoff opponents, the New York Mets, and won 8-4 and 6-0 before losing 5-0.

Verdict

Milwaukee had New York’s number in the regular season and we expect more of the same.

The Brewers are rested and have home advantage, while the Mets are facing a quick turnaround after a road double-header yesterday.
