They lost the final game of the series with the Astros, 8-2, only to respond in strong fashion as they reeled off four consecutive wins.

Pittsburgh swept Philadelphia with a 5-4, 2-1 and 2-1 victories, before taking the series opener against Miami, 10-3.

The Pirates failed to make it to five-in-a-row as they lost 3-2 to the Marlins, but they did bounce back immediately to take the series finale 5-2.

Chicago return home after an underwhelming road trip that saw them win just four of their nine games.

The Cubs kicked off that trip with an 8-3 victory in Washington, but they failed to back that up as they lost 2-0 in the second game of the series.

They rallied to take the final meeting 7-1, before moving on to Detroit where they sandwiched a 6-1 win over the Tigers with 3-1 and 4-0 defeats.

Chicago suffered the same fate in Philadelphia too, as they lost two of their three meetings with the Phillies.

The Cubs lost the series opener 4-3, and then failed to back up an 8-4 win over the Phillies as they dropped the series finale 7-2.
