San Diego head to Milwaukee on the back of a couple of losses, but in decent form with eight wins in their last 13 games.

The Padres began this sequence in Atlanta, where they sandwiched a 7-1 defeat to the Braves with 2-1 and 5-3 victories.

They then returned home to win their first two meetings with Miami, 4-3 and 8-6, only to miss out on a series sweep as they dropped the final game 10-8.

San Diego rebounded with a 3-2 victory over Pittsburgh, before answering a 5-0 loss to the Pirates with a 6-4 success in the series finale.

The Padres backed that up in San Francisco with 1-0 and 3-2 wins, but lost the next two meetings with the Giants, 6-5 and 3-2.

Milwaukee Brewers Form

Milwaukee enter this series on the back of a day’s rest and in good form, having won nine of their last 10 games.

The Brewers started this great run of form as they won the series finale in Pittsburgh, 6-5, to split that four-game showdown with the Pirates.

They backed that up when they returned home to sweep Boston in a three-game series, beating the Red Sox 3-2, 5-1 and 6-5.

Milwaukee went back out on the road after that and kept their win streak going as the swept Philadelphia with 6-2 17-7 and 5-2 victories.

The Brewers then made it eight-in-a-row with a 3-2 victory in Cincinnati, before rebounding from the 4-2 streak-ending loss to the Reds with a 9-1 success.

Milwaukee are on a roll and have an in-form pitcher headed to the mound.
