The Rangers lost three straight on a recent road trip, but turned things around with back-to-back wins in Detroit to spark this good run.

They beat the Tigers 10-3 and 6-1, before returning home to sweep Colorado in three games, winning 2-1, 4-1 and 8-3.

Texas then took their streak to six games with a 1-0 win at home to Houston, but the rest of the series was a mixed bag.

The Rangers lost two of the next three meetings with the Astros, sandwiching a 5-1 victory with 6-3 and 4-3 defeats.

New York Yankees Form

New York came into this series on a good run of form, having won eight of their previous 11 games.

The Yankees dropped three straight early in May, but rebounded with back-to-back wins over San Diego, beating the Padres 12-3 and 4-3 at home.

They then went out on the road to sandwich an 11-7 loss to The Athletics with 10-2 and 12-2 wins, before heading to Seattle where they enjoyed similar success.

New York won the series opener 11-5, before rebounding from a 2-1 loss to the Mariners with a 3-2 victory.

The Yankees ended last week with the Subway Series showdown with the Mets at Yankee Stadium, where they won 6-2 and 8-2 either side of a 3-2 defeat.
