Alba Berlin endured a disappointing Euroleague campaign, finishing in last place and announcing their withdrawal from the elite European division starting in the 2025/26 season.
Their struggles extended to the German BBL, where they finished the regular season in 7th place with an 18-14 record and were forced into the play-in tournament.
There, Alba Berlin edged past Syntainics 81-78 at home, with Malte Delow leading the way with 18 points.
However, they couldn’t pull off an upset in Game 1 of the quarterfinals at Ulm, falling 94-83. Delow once again led the team with 16 points.

Ulm remain one of the top contenders to challenge Bayern Munich for the BBL title this season, finishing the regular season in 2nd place with a 23-9 record.
They closed the regular campaign with a convincing 79-64 win away at Hamburg, shooting 51% from the field (31/61) and dominating the paint with a 38-30 rebounding edge.
In Game 1 of the quarterfinals, Ulm impressed again by beating Alba Berlin 94-83 at home. Noa Essengue stood out with 21 points, four rebounds, and three assists.
Verdict
Alba Berlin have had a disappointing season, struggling in both the Euroleague and BBL. I’m backing Ulm to secure their sixth straight win tonight and take a 2-0 lead in the series.
