ASVEL are once again sitting very close to the bottom of Euroleague standings after 12 rounds, claiming just four victories so far.
They did cause an upset last week at home by defeating Anadolu Efes 97-82, veteran Joffrey Lauvergne being man of the match with 18 points (9/12 field goal attempts) and two rebounds.
This was the second victory for ASVEL in their last three Euroleague appearances, also beating Crvena Zvezda 77-74 at home, while losing to Monaco 103-92 in the follow up clash.
Real Madrid Form
Situation was quite alarming for Real Madrid a couple of rounds ago in the Euroleague, but thanks to three victories in last four appearances, they moved up a bit on the table, currently sitting in 10th place with a 6-6 record.
Los Blancos gained huge confidence after beating Barcelona 97-90 in overtime last week as visitors, Walter Tavares delivering 24 points, 18 rebounds and one assist (10/13 field goals).
One round before that, they outclassed Alba Berlin 98-84 at home.
Real Madrid underperformed last weekend in Spanish ACB Liga, losing to Joventut 80-76 and dropping down to 3rd place on the table (6-3 record).
Verdict
Real Madrid earned ten consecutive victories against ASVEL. Los Blancos don’t have room for mistake after winning six of 12 Euroleague games, so I have no doubt they will take this match seriously and earn a convincing victory.
