Maccabi Tel Aviv vs Panathinaikos Predictions

The likes of Wade Baldwin returning for this match are slim and that’s an opportunity Panathinaikos must seize to keep their Euroleague season alive.

Head to Head

Maccabi Tel Aviv have a 17-15 advantage against Panathinaikos in 32 matches.

Maccabi Tel Aviv won Game 3 on Tuesday 85-83.

Maccabi Tel Aviv Form

Even without their best player, Maccabi Tel Aviv won Game 3 85-83 on a neutral court in Belgrade. Josh Nebo was the man of the match, scoring 22 points in 29 minutes, while also adding nine rebounds to his name.

The Yellows were beaten in Game 2 without offering any resistance. The absence of their key player Wade Baldwin has taken a toll, losing in Athens 95-79, Lorenzo Brown being the top scorer with 18 points.

Maccabi Tel Aviv were carried by Bonzie Colson in the first match who scored 18 points, followed by Brown who added 16 points to his name.

Wade Baldwin is doubtful for this match.

Panathinaikos Form

Pao almost pulled a comeback on Tuesday after winning the last quarter 27-18. Kendrick Nunn had a great match, scoring 25 points, followed by Ioannis Papapetrou who added 17 to his name. Poor free throw shooting (12/20) played a massive role in this defeat.

Panathinaikos demonstrated fantastic form in Game 2, crushing the opposition by 16 points difference. The second quarter was the deciding one, won by Pao 31-11. Kostas Sloukas had a stellar performance, ending the match with 29 points, four assists and three rebounds.

That was a significant upgrade in comparison to last Tuesday, Mathias Lessort was the only one to meet his average numbers in Game 1, scoring 22 points and adding six rebounds and one assist to his name. The Greek side entered the final quarter with a seven-points advantage but lost 17-28.

Juan Hernangomez is injured.

Verdict

This entire season is on the line for Panathinaikos who have what it takes to win Game 4 in my opinion. I don’t see Maccabi repeating 64% for two-point shooting they had on Tuesday any time soon.
