Olympiakos Form
Olympiakos picked up an amazing form in mid-December, won three games in a row and took over the leading role in the Euroleague with a 13-6 record.
They earned back to back victories against Virtus Bologna 87-77, Alba Berlin 90-85, and Milano 84-83, Sasha Vezenkov playing the key role in those wins.
The Red and Whites extended their winning run last week on hot court in Lithuania, beating Zalgiris Kaunas 92-85. Vezenkov once again dominated the floor with 24 points, seven rebounds and one assist.
Bayern Form
Bayern struggled throughout December, claiming just one win in their last four Euroleague appearances and dropped down to 7th place with an 11-8 record.
They wrapped up the last year with a narrow road victory against Milano 79-78, but then suffered a convincing 80-69 home loss to Panathinaikos, first defeat in Munich this season.
Bayern Munich started 2025 with another defeat in the Euroleague, losing to Real Madrid 88-76 in Spain, Carsen Edwards being the top performer with 18 points, two assists and one rebound.
Verdict
Bayern’s form has declined in the last couple of rounds, losing four of their last five EL games and also getting beaten by Alba last weekend. Olympiakos are one of the strongest hosts in Europe and I will back them to claim a convincing win tonight.
