Olympiakos are most likely ending the Euroleague regular season as #1 seeded team, currently topping the table with an impressive 23-10 record.
Their late-March form has been disastrous though, suffering three back to back defeats against Crvena Zvezda 81-73, ASVEL 81-70 and Monaco 80-77.
The Red and Whites put an end to this awful run last week against last-placed Alba Berlin, winning 100-92 in Germany in a match full of twists. Alec Peters delivered outstanding performance, scoring 33 points (10/12 FG attempts).
Maccabi Tel Aviv Form
Maccabi Tel Aviv are having the worst season in the Euroleague since they joined the elite competition, sitting in 16th place with an 11-22 record.
Their form has improved in the last couple of rounds, beating Monaco 91-88 and Virtus Bologna 77-67 in mid-March, but then lost two games in a row to Panathinaikos 99-92 and Anadolu Efes 90-88.
Last week, The Yellows returned to winning ways on a neutral court in Belgrade against Bayern 93-90, Jimmy Clark being man of the match with 20 points, three rebounds and two assists.
Verdict
Olympiakos finally put an end to their losing streak with a win against Alba last week. I will back them to make it two in a row against Maccabi who struggle on the road and to cover a –12.5 handicap in Piraeus.
