Olympiakos are the top favourites to win the upcoming Final Four tournament. I don’t think Monaco have an answer for Sasha Vezenkov, so I’m backing the Greek side to cover a –3.5 handicap and advance to the grand final.

Olympiakos head into the Euroleague Final Four with high hopes after finishing the regular season in 1st place with an impressive 24-10 record.
In the quarterfinals, the Red and Whites eliminated last year’s finalists Real Madrid 3-1. They won the first two games in Greece 84-72 and 77-71, then dropped Game 3 in Madrid 80-72.
Olympiakos kept their composure and narrowly won Game 4 by 86-84. Evan Fournier delivered 23 points, while star player Sasha Vezenkov was limited to 10.
Since then, the Piraeus-based side have played two domestic matches, beating AEK Athens twice to reach the Greek Basket League finals, where they will face Panathinaikos.
Monaco Form
This is Monaco’s second Final Four appearance in the past three years, a strong achievement given their long odds at the start of the season.
They came through a grueling five-game quarterfinal against Barcelona, winning the series 3-2. After both teams defended home court, Monaco narrowly won the decisive Game 5 85-84, with veteran Mike James leading the way with 20 points, five assists, and a rebound.
Monaco finished 4th in the regular season with a 21-13 record. Mike James averaged 15.9 PPG, followed by Elie Okobo (13.0 PPG) and Daniel Theis (12.2 PPG).
Verdict
Olympiakos were the most dominant team in the regular season and showed strong form in their quarterfinal win over Real Madrid. I don’t think Monaco can contain Sasha Vezenkov and company on Friday — I’m backing Olympiakos to win with a –3.5 handicap.
