Olympiakos vs Monaco

Olympiakos and Panathinaikos meet in today's Euroleague Final Four third-place decider, with both sides looking to bounce back from disappointing semifinal defeats.

Olympiakos were stunned by Monaco despite a 31-point effort from Evan Fournier, while Panathinaikos fell to Fenerbahce after a slow defensive start. With the odds nearly even, this all-Greek showdown in Abu Dhabi could turn into a closely fought battle for pride.

Olympiakos

Olympiakos came into the Final Four as top favorites after an impressive 24-10 regular season and a 3-1 quarterfinal win over Real Madrid. However, they fell short in the semifinal, losing 78-68 to Monaco in a game where their shooting woes proved costly.

The Red and Whites hit just 5-of-27 from beyond the arc and missed six free throws, with star forward Sasha Vezenkov limited to only seven points. Evan Fournier continued his strong playoff form with 31 points, but Olympiakos will now have to regroup quickly for a high-stakes derby to close out their Euroleague campaign.

Panathinaikos

Panathinaikos also endured a frustrating semifinal, falling 82-76 to Fenerbahce after allowing too many open looks early on. Despite a late push, they couldn’t overturn the first-half deficit, with Cedi Osman leading the way with 22 points and MVP Kendrick Nunn adding 19.

The Greens had reached the Final Four through a hard-fought 3-2 series win over Anadolu Efes, where Osman starred again with 28 points and eight rebounds in the decisive Game 5. After a strong 22-12 regular season, they now turn their focus to securing third place and finishing their European run on a high.
