Serbia go into this FIBA World Cup semi-final clash having won five of their six games so far.

The Serbians won all three of their first-round group games in convincing fashion, beating China 105-63, Puerto Rico 94-77 and South Sudan 115-83.

They failed to make it four-in-a-row though, losing 78-76 to Italy in the opening game of the second-round group stage.

Serbia bounced back immediately though, cruising to a 112-79 win over the Dominican Republic to book their quarter-finals.

Then, in the last eight, the Serbians took down a red-hot Lithuania team, 87-67, to march into the semi-finals.

Canada Form

Canada have won five of their six games on their way to the semi-finals of the FIBA World Cup.

The Canadians made an early statement as they comprehensively beat the second favourites to win it all, France, 85-65.

They backed that 128-73 blowout of Lebanon before easing to a 101-75 victory over Latvia in their final first-round game.

Canada’s streak was halted at three games as they lost 69-65 to Brazil in their opening game of the second round, but like Serbia they rebounded quickly from a loss.

They got back on track with an 88-85 victory over Spain in the quarter-finals, and then advanced to the final four with a 100-89 win over Slovenia.

Verdict

Serbia v Canada

Canada boast the stronger roster and in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander they have the best player at the tournament.

He can play scorer and provider, and if Serbia cannot stop the NBA star we are likely to see a Canadian victory and cover.
