Germany wrapped up the Olympics group phase by winning all three games. They started the tournament with a convincing 97-77 victory against Japan.
World champions were not properly challenged by Brazil in the second round, earning an 86-73 victory, Dennis Schroeder topping the charts with 20 points, three rebounds and six assists.
Germans made it three in a row in the third round against the tournament hosts France 85-71, Schroeder again being the man of the match with 26 points, nine assists and four rebounds.
The first half against Greece in the quarterfinal was tied at 36-36, but Germany improved their numbers later to beat Giannis and co 76-63.
Verdict
France got their confidence up after eliminating Canada in the quarterfinals, while Germany struggled in the first half against Greece. With the help of home crowd, I feel Les Bleus can cause another upset.
