Arkansas have put a rough ending to the regular season firmly behind them at March Madness.

The Razorbacks lost five of their final seven games, including each of the last three, and although they stopped that rot at the SEC tournament, their joy was short-lived.

They beat Auburn 76-73 in their opening game, only to then lose 67-61 at the hands of Texas A&M.

Arkansas bounced back in the opening round of the national tournament, running out 73-63 winners against Illinois.

The Razorbacks then pulled off a big upset in the second as they downed #4 Kansas, 72-71, to set up this meeting with UConn.

Connecticut Form

Connecticut go into the Sweet 16 in good form, having won eight of their last nine games.

The Huskies bounced back from a narrow defeat to #23 Creighton in the first half of February to close out the regular season with five consecutive wins.

UConn made it six-in-a-row as they downed Providence 73-66 in the opening round of the Big East tournament, but they failed to extend their streak to seven games.

They fell to a 70-68 defeat when they took on #6 Marquette in the conference tournament.

Connecticut have put that behind them at March Madness though, following up an 87-63 win against Iona with a 70-55 victory over Saint Mary’s (CA).

Connecticut have been winning and covering consistently for several weeks now.

They are the more well-rounded team out of the two teams, so that trend is likely to continue here.
