Auburn are in the second round of March Madness despite a rough run of form over the past couple of months.

The Tigers lost eight of their last 12 regular season games, but did wrap up with a 79-70 win against #12 Tennessee.

They failed to follow that up in the SEC Championship tournament though, falling at the very first hurdle.

Auburn dropped a close one, 76-73, to Arkansas, but put that behind them in the opening round of the national tournament.

The Tigers knocked off #8 Iowa 83-75 to set up this second-round meeting with the Cougars.

Houston Form

Houston have not been playing their best recently, but they have now won 14 of their last 15 games.

The Cougars responded to a 56-55 defeat to Temple back in January 22 with an 11-game win streak to close out the regular season.

That good run of results continued in the AAC Championship tournament as they opened with a 60-46 victory over East Carolina.

Houston then made straightforward work of Cincinnati, 69-48, to book their place in the final against Memphis.

The Cougars came up short though, suffering a 75-65 defeat to a Tigers team they beat twice during the final few weeks of the regular season.

Houston have not been playing well and they have been struggling against the spread recently.

They are also likely to be without their leading scorer again, so Auburn make for appealing underdogs.
