The Gators are an elite team that is strong at both ends of the court, and as the better rebounding team we expect them to pile up offensive boards and take their second chances.

Florida go into the Sweet 16 of the national tournament riding an eight-game win streak that has kept them unbeaten in March.

The Gators began the month by winning their final three games of the regular season, and they kept that run going in the SEC tournament.

They beat Missouri 95-81 and Alabama 104-82 to reach the final, where they beat Tennessee 86-77.

Florida’s run reached seven games as they opened their March Madness campaign with a 95-69 victory over Norfolk State.

The Gators then made it eight-in-a-row in the second round as they fended off UConn in a 77-75 success.

Maryland Form

Maryland enter this matchup having put their conference tournament heartbreak behind them with back-to-back wins in March Madness.

The Terrapins ended February with a defeat to Michigan State, but rallied over the final three games to finish the regular season in good form.

They made it four-in-a-row with an 88-65 victory over Illinois in the Big Ten tournament, only to bow out in the next round as they lost 81-80 to Michigan.

Maryland rebounded in emphatic fashion though, as they kicked off their national tournament campaign with an 81-49 victory over Grand Canyon.

The Terrapins then followed that up in the second round as they battled past Colorado State, 72-71.

Florida have been a standout team in college basketball, and in many peoples’ eyes they remain Duke’s biggest threat.

We expect the Gators to stay on course here as they cover and beat Maryland to a reach the Elite Eight.
