Florida are backed to cover the spread in a commanding March Madness victory.

Simply put, Norfolk State do not have the firepower to hang with a Gators team that can pour in threes and rank second in the nation in fast-break scoring.

Florida enter this matchup on a great run of form, having won 12 of their last 13 games and each of the previous six.

The Gators’ last loss came back on February 25 when they were beaten 88-83 on the road in Georgia.

They issued a swift response in the form of an 89-70 win over Texas A&M, and backed that up by beating Alabama 99-94 and Mississippi 90-71 to close out the regular season.

Florida then surged into the final of the SEC tournament by beating Missouri 95-81 and blowing out Alabama 104-82.

The Gators then clinched the conference crown with an 86-77 win over Tennessee in the final.

Norfolk State Form

Norfolk State go into the national tournament having just clinched the conference crown and having won four straight.

The Spartans dropped back-to-back road games late in the regular season, as they were beaten 91-88 by South Carolina State and 91-87 in overtime by North Carolina Central.

They ended the regular season on a positive note though, as they ran out 81-69 winners at Howard.

Norfolk State then backed up that victory in the first two rounds of the MEAC tournament, beating Maryland-Eastern Shore 77-70 and Morgan State 58-55.

The Spartans then secured the conference crown by avenging that regular season loss to South Carolina State, winning 66-65.

Florida have the offense that can turn this into a sprint, and Norfolk State simply cannot match that pace.

We expect the Gators to surge ahead and maintain a big lead until the clock ticks zero.
