Grand Canyon finished the regular season with a 20-11 record and went on to win the Western Athletic Conference tournament.

The Antelopes bounced back from a loss to Seattle with back-to-back road wins to close out the regular season.

They beat Southern Utah 83-78 and then downed Utah Tech 71-61 to go into the conference tournament with some momentum.

Grand Canyon kept that going as they beat UT Arlington 82-77, Seattle 84-79 and Sam Houston State 78-75 to reach the tournament final.

The Antelopes then completed their run to the crown by blowing out Southern Utah 84-66.

Gonzaga Form

Gonzaga compiled a 26-5 record in the regular season before going on to win the West Coast Conference tournament.

The Bulldogs suffered a disappointing defeat at #18 St Mary’s (CA) on February 4, but rebounded emphatically with seven straight wins to close out the regular season.

That win streak included a 77-68 win over St Mary’s (CA), who had climbed to #15 after that surprise win earlier in the month.

Gonzaga extended their win streak to eight games with an 84-73 win against San Francisco in the semi-finals of the conference tournament.

The Bulldogs then clinched the West Coast Conference crown with a 77-51 demolition of St Mary’s (CA).

Gonzaga are on a roll and have been stacking up dominant wins over the past few weeks.

The Bulldogs are backed to be too strong for Grand Canyon, although the Antelopes are likely to help the total hit the over.
