The Hurricanes finished the regular season with a 24-6 record but managed only one win at the ACC tournament.

They beat Wake Forest 74-72, before falling to an 85-78 defeat at the hands of #21 Duke.

Miami bounced back as they beat Drake 63-56 in the first round of March Madness, and they then backed that up by beating #21 Indiana 85-69.

The Hurricanes then booked their place in the Elite Eight in sensational fashion, beating #2 Houston emphatically, 89-75.

The Longhorns bounced back from a couple of defeats to down #3 Kansas, 75-59, in their regular season finale.

The Longhorns then booked their place in the last eight of March Madness with an 83-71 success against #13 Xavier.
