The Hurricanes finished the regular season with a 24-6 record but managed only one win at the ACC tournament.

They beat Wake Forest 74-72, before falling to an 85-78 defeat at the hands of #21 Duke.

Miami bounced back as they beat Drake 63-56 in the first round of March Madness, and they then backed that up by beating #21 Indiana 85-69.

The Hurricanes then booked their place in the Elite Eight in sensational fashion, beating #2 Houston emphatically, 89-75.

Texas are riding a seven-game win streak into this March Madness Elite Eight clash with Miami.

The Longhorns bounced back from a couple of defeats to down #3 Kansas, 75-59, in their regular season finale.

They then followed that up at the Big 12 tournament, beating Oklahoma State 61-47 and #22 TCU 66-60, before downing #3 Kansas 76-56 in the final.

Texas kept their streak going in the first round of the national tournament as they eased past Colgate, 81-61, and they followed that up with a 71-66 victory over Penn State.

The Longhorns then booked their place in the last eight of March Madness with an 83-71 success against #13 Xavier.

They are capable of keeping up with Texas on the scoreboard and will be full of confidence after eliminating #2 Houston.
