The Spartans went into the Big Ten tournament in decent form, having won three of their final four games in the regular season.

They entered the conference tournament at the quarter-final stage, but made a swift exit as they were beaten 68-58 by Ohio State.

Michigan State have rebounded at March Madness though, starting their campaign with a 72-62 win against USC.

The Spartans then backed that up with a surprise win against #6 Marquette, beating the Golden Eagles 69-60 to book their place in the Sweet 16.

Kansas State Form

Kansas State have also put a miserable conference tournament campaign behind them at the national tournament.

Having ended the regular season with an 89-81 loss to West Virginia, the Wildcats fell at the first hurdle in the Big 12 tournament.

They were beaten convincingly by #22 TCU, losing 80-67 to the Horned Frogs.

Kansas State bounced back from that defeat when they opened their March Madness campaign against Montana State, winning 77-65.

They then backed up that victory with a 75-69 victory over Kentucky in the second round of the national tournament.
