The Tigers ended the regular season with back-to-back wins against Harvard and Pennsylvania to go into the Ivy League tournament with momentum.

They stayed on a roll in that tournament too, following up a 77-70 win against Pennsylvania with a 74-65 victory over Yale to take the honors.

Princeton then made a sensational start to March Madness as they upset #8 Arizona 59-55 in the first round.

The Tigers were not done there though, causing another surprise as they downed #23 Missouri, 78-63, in the second round.

Creighton come into this game in solid form, having won five of their last six games.

The Bluejays stumbled late in the regular season with three defeats in a four-game spell, but they were able to steady the ship by winning the final two games.

They then beat Villanova 87-74 in the first round of the Big East tournament, only to fall to #15 Xavier, 82-60, in the next round.

Creighton put that blowout defeat behind them in the first round of the national tournament, beating NC State 72-63.

The Bluejays then followed that up with an 85-76 victory over #11 Baylor to book their place in the Sweet 16.
