The Volunteers wrapped up the regular season with a victory and then successfully navigated their way to the final of the SEC tournament.

They beat Texas 83-72 and upset Auburn 70-65, only to come up short as they were beaten 86-77 by Florida in the final.

Tennessee put that disappointment behind them when they started their March Madness campaign, following up a 77-62 win over Wofford with a 67-58 success against UCLA.

The Volunteers then booked their place in the Sweet 16 by avenging a couple of regular season defeats, beating Kentucky 78-65.

Houston Form

Houston go into the last eight at March Madness on a dominant run of form, having now won 16 consecutive games.

The Cougars ended the regular season on a 10-game win streak and kept that red-hot run going as they claimed the Big 12 tournament crown.

They beat Colorado 77-68 and BYU 74-54 to earn their place in the final, where they beat Arizona 72-64 to claim the championship.

Houston have continued their fantastic form too in March Madness, winning three more games to make the Elite Eight.

The Cougars opened with a 78-40 blowout of SIU Edwardsville, before downing Gonzaga 81-76 and Purdue 62-60.

Houston have been on a tear, but they made hard work of their last couple of victories.
